One of my go-to outfits recently has been anything with culotte pants and slide sandals. I’m not going to lie, when I first tried on these pants I had flashbacks of sporting knit gauchos, a Bobby Jack screen tee, and Rainbow sandals, but these are much more tailored and chic (if I do say so myself). I snagged these pants at work & I’m so glad I decided to get out of my comfort zone a bit. Now that we’re getting into the fall transition period in retail, I made a promise to myself that I would find ways to make these pants work for the fall and winter seasons. Thanks to Pinterest inspiration I can’t wait to style these culottes with ankle boots and sneakers with a chunky sweater on top.
I paired my new favorite pants with another one of my summer favorites-this high neck tank from Madewell. I fell in love instantly with this top and ended up getting it in three other colors (oops). As a broad shouldered gal, this tank hits at the most flattering point and lets my collarbone have its time to shine. This tank is on super sale right now too so grab one before they’re gone! If you know me at all you know I love dressing in all black and white, so adding my favorite watch by Daniel Wellington and these fab pearl sandals from fab’rik Raleigh completed this minimal look perfectly.
These pearl sandals by Soda are surprisingly comfortable for a flat sandal and somehow seem to dress up any outfit. Another favorite look I pair these sandals with is super distressed jeans and a black camisole top. I love styling contrasting pieces, so mixing the feminine top and sandals with the edgy denim is a match made in heaven. These are a complete dupe for the Steve Madden pearl sandals and Lulus has them in a different brand as well as in the rose gold color way, but I’m all about the dark and drab. 😉
So if you’re feeling nostalgic for the days of gaucho pants and tacky tees, pick up a pair of tailored wide leg trousers for a seriously upgraded take on the old 2005 classic. I’ve gotten so much wear out of these pants already and am way too excited to style them for the cooler months!
